Labor Law Policies of UAE

Labour Law UAE defines the rules and regulations for the workers and employers. It controls and handles the terms between workers, their employers and trade unions. If everyone in this tripartite relationship acts according to the country labour laws, then matters remain smooth. Otherwise, the regulating body; handling the labour law plays their role for better results.

Every country has two types of labour laws. One handles the individual labour issues and is known as individual labour law. Other handles the issues with multiple entities and is known as collective labour law. Individual labour law is more about the rights of workers at the workplace and the contract between labourer and employer handles the matter effectively. Collective labour law handles the tripartite relationship between the employees, employer and trade union.

Labour Law UAE defines the terms for all types of employees whether they are men, women, or children. It protects their rights. UAE labour law handles the issues related to contracts of the regular job, apprenticeships or vocational training contracts. Individual labour law of UAE covers all the aspects of wages, working hours, leave policies, hiring and termination terms, discrimination aspects between employees, employees safety and protection policy, health care, social care, disciplinary policies and compensation for injuries etc.

Every employer of more than 15 employees is bound to keep and maintain the proper record of each employee. Their wages record, working rules, disciplinary rules and injury records should be maintained. The minimum wages policy defined by the UAE government should be followed by employers. Maximum 8 hours per day and 48 hours per week policy should not be violated. At least one day of rest is a must every week i.e. Friday. Public holidays must be given to all employees. UAE government keeps a regular check on the implementation of labour law.
